OUR ROOTS: NDOVU NI KUU

Ati where did the name Tusker come from? Well, in 1922 George Hurst (a KBL co-founder) was killed while on a hunting expedition. As result, Tusker the beer got its name (we know…it’s a dark tale).

THE BREW: FOAM NI GANI?

With barley from the Savanna & Maasai Mara, water from Aberdares and locally grown yeast, brewers made sure every sip of Tusker Lager delivers good vibes. The ‘Tusk’ at hand was to have a rich liquid that screams ‘Uzalendo’ since its brewed with Kenya’s finest ingredients, for Kenyans, by Kenyans.

Serengeti Premium Lite is the light variant of Serengeti Premium Lager. Like lager, both variants are high quality beers, rooted in the national heritage of Tanzania. Our brewmasters created Serengeti Premium Lite as a full flavoured light beer – a light beer for real beer lovers. 

This is what differentiates Serengeti Premium Lite from other watery light beers. Our Master Brewer calls it “the Lite with a Bite’ and that became the title of the popular, humorous advertising campaign with the leopard that has supported the brand since its launch. 
Serengeti Premium Lite has become the favourite beer for many Tanzanians and is the leading brand in the light segment. It has won Superbrands status for 2019/2020 and has also won the Best Innovation Award of the year in 2018 within Diageo Africa. 
Serengeti Premium Lite was launched in a green bottle, at a mainstream price; which was more accessible than the competition. Apart from being bottled in a 330ml premium green bottle with freshly coloured standout labels, Serengeti Premium Lite is quite unique compared to other lite beers in the market.

Tusker Malt

Brewed as EABL's first premium brand, Tusker Malt was initially launched in the Kenyan market in 1996 after years as an export only brand.

100% MALT, SLOW BREWED FOR FULLER FLAVOUR

Tusker Malt is gold dressed in a bold character. It is expertly crafted by our master brewers for a sophisticated flavor. The finest Malt matured for twice as long as ordinary beer, plus s generous serving of flavoured-filled hops, gives Tusker Malt a premium, rich taste. Pop a bottle and the waft of hops in the air will tell all about the craft, the time and the perfection it takes to make Tusker Malt.

From the moment the bottle pops, hop aromas fill the air and each mouthful is smooth, crisp and satisfying. A highly flavoured malt lager you won’t easily forget.

We don’t take our name lightly. To create a beer that has fewer calories, we craft a unique recipe of barley, cornstarch and hops.

THE RESULT?

A light, golden colored liquid with a delightful aroma which appeals to the senses before the true magic happens. With every sip, we “Keep It Lite” with a light body that is heavy on taste; creating an enjoyable drinking experience. Tusker Lite is best enjoyed served fresh and cold from the fridge at between 3 and 7°C.There’s no time like the present to tantalize your taste buds and tingle the senses with the crispness and great taste of Tusker Lite.
